doctor israel & lucy town
date.5 May, 1791- 20 September 1859
To the south of the Baldwin & Hudson families are the graves of Israel & Lucy Town.

Since he came to Ohio in 1815, Dr. Town is considered a "pioneer," rather than a "founder."
He was, however, a very prominent local citizen in those early times.

Further, he was a charter members of Hudson's Christ Church Episcopal.
Town married Lucy in July, 1820, after a fairly lengthy long distance courtship & considerable correspondence--some of which is still archived.
After marrying & relocating, Lucy wrote back to her mother, "I cannot express my gratitude for a companion who is not only able but willing to do so much for me."

Lucy's sister, Sally, visited Hudson & found it congenial to romance, too. Sally married local entrepreneur AA Brewster.
